Pastor Greene is a devoted husband, father, student, preacher, and Bible teacher. His life’s mission is to inspire people of all ages to develop a deep love for the Word of God. Pastor Greene’s journey began at Concord Church in Dallas, TX, where he grew up. Under the guidance of esteemed leaders such as Dr. E.K. Bailey and Dr. Bryan L. Carter, he gained invaluable experience and was licensed and ordained after delivering his first sermon on January 7, 2001.
For 23 years, Pastor Greene faithfully served at Concord Church, holding various roles including Children’s Pastor, Senior Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministries, Teaching Pastor, Director of Ministry, and Pastor of Teaching, Evangelism, and Leadership. During this time, he learned essential lessons about serving and leading God’s people, nurturing his passion for ministry and equipping him to impact lives.
In May of 2023, Pastor Greene embarked on a new chapter as the 15th pastor of 159-year old Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, affectionately known as “The Rock” in Richardson, TX. He humbly wears the title of being “the newest pastor of the oldest African American church in Dallas County.” His genuine love for people of all ages and appreciation for the church’s rich history have connected him deeply with the congregation of Mount Pisgah.
Beyond his pastoral duties, S. Michael Greene finds joy in exploring genealogy, delving into cemeteries, conducting interviews, and studying historical documents to piece together the generations of his own family’s history. He is also an avid lover of gospel music, finding inspiration and solace in its melodies.
Education has played a significant role in Pastor Greene’s growth and development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Dallas Baptist University. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies with a concentration in ministry from Dallas Baptist University, with an expected graduation this year. This pursuit reflects his unwavering commitment to deepening his knowledge and understanding of leadership within a ministry context.
Throughout his journey, Pastor Greene has had the opportunity to explore the world. He studied abroad at Oxford University in Oxford, England, and has traveled to and preached in the Holy Land. He also embarked on a travel-study trip to Athens, Greece, and Rome, Italy, combining his love for architecture, history, and biblical studies.
Pastor Greene is married to his beloved wife, Sabrina, and together, they are blessed with three children: Shellie Landon Michael, Sean Michael (both 15 years old), and Leah McKenzie (7 years old)
